Bruderheim's Agricultural Society has provided nearly forty years of generous contributions to the community since its formation in 1972. The group currently consists of eighteen members, and is dedicated to a long list of events, donations, and other projects that benefit the residents and visitors of Bruderheim.
Bruderheim Heartland Ag Days, for example, is a tremendous event hosted by the Ag Society that offers professional chuck wagon and chariot races, children's events, tractor pulls and more, drawing people from all around the Capital region and promoting awareness of Bruderheim. Halloween Family Fun Night, also hosted by the Ag Society in 2010, offered Bruderheim families a magic show, treats and games.
The group does an outstanding job in maintaining and managing a number of properties throughout Bruderheim, including the campground, Ag Grounds (which include a race track, two shale ball diamonds and staging area), and the Old Walker School, a designated Provincial Historic Resource. The exterior of the school was recently painted in the fall of 2010, adding greatly to the aesthetics of our main street. The group has plans for further renovating the building in the future, including repairing the ceiling and moving the historical room. It is in large part thanks to the Society's efforts that the Town of Bruderheim can boast such an impressive historical gem.
Additionally, the Ag Society advocates the awareness of agricultural practices by supporting the local 4-H Light Horse Club. The Society sponsored their equine safety program and allows them use of the Ag Grounds for their practices and activities free of charge.
The Town of Bruderheim recognizes the Agricultural Society as an important community partner, and wants to thank them for their long-standing involvement and efforts in helping to create enjoyable opportunities for residents and visitors.
