Community Services Advisory Board
The Town of Bruderheim is pleased to officially announce the formation of a new volunteer board! The Community Services Advisory Board was formed during the February 2nd (2011) Council Meeting.
This new board is an amalgamation of the former Family and Community Support Services Board and the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee.
The goal of the Board is to advise Council on policies which are consistent with the community's needs and to correlate various com-munity services offered by the Town of Bruderheim so as to make them responsive to the needs of the community.
Therefore, the Community Services Advisory Board will oversee the areas of FCSS and Recreation in our community!
The following board members were recently appointed to the Board by Town Council:

The Board actively supports all groups in Bruderheim and strives to enhance programs and events within our community, such as:

Communities in BloomCommunities in Bloom (CiB) is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on the promotion of green spaces in community settings. The Bruderheim CiB chapter works hard to keep our parks and green spaces beautiful. Bruderheim Minor Sports Association (BMSA)
The BMSA offers a number of sports and recreation programs for children and youth, including hockey, minor ball and soccer.

Bruderheim Arena
Bruderheim's indoor arena offers scheduled ice times for hockey practices and games, as well as public skating. Meeting room rentals also available. Contact Rob Komarniski, at 780-819-4625 for more information on bookings, public skating schedule, and fees.

Outdoor RinkSharpen your skates and experience Canada's greatest game or enjoy a leisurely skate on our newly constructed (2010) outdoor rink. The ice quality is superb - thanks to our zamboni! Bruderheim's outdoor rink is open to the public and free of charge. Enjoy! Location: Corner of 50th Street and 52nd Avenue Hours of Operation: (during winter season) Monday to Thursday and Sunday: Noon to 11:00 pm Note to all public ice users: Please be aware that you are using the ice at your own risk. Ball Diamonds
Batter up! Enjoy a game of ball at any of our three ball diamonds. Contact the Town Office (780-796-3731) for information on schedules and fees.
Locations:
- 2 shale diamonds at the Ag Grounds (north of the west end of 52nd Ave)
- 1 grass diamond next to the Bruderheim School grounds
Soccer field
The soccer field, located next Bruderheim School, is open to the public free of charge. For more information, contact Rob Komarniski, at 780-819-4625.

Spring Creek Wetland Interpretive Centre
Learn why wetlands and native plants are so important at the Spring Creek Wetland Interpretive Centre. The site proudly displays children's drawings from the Bruderheim School and utilizes recycled tire Pour n' Play surfacing. Come see why we cherish our little wetland so much!
Location: East end of 50th Avenue, behind the Town Office.
Bruderheim Heritage Trail
This paved walking trail links Bruderheim's neighbourhoods and scenic sites, giving visitors a chance to get fit while experiencing our community. Markers along the trail will take you through time, offering information on our cultural and natural heritage. See our brochure for more information.
Queen's Park
On August 2nd, 1978, Bruderheim was honoured with a ten minute scheduled visit from the Queen of England. Queen Elizabeth, accompanied by Prince Philip, was making her tour by train to officially open the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton. In preparation for the occasion, Bruderheim's CNR station site was developed into 'Queen's Park', and Main Street was renamed 'Queen Street'.

Ag GroundsThe Bruderheim Agricultural Society maintains the Ag Grounds on the northwest end of town (52nd Ave). The area offers a chuck wagon/chariot race track and two shale ball diamonds. Fore more information, contact the Agricultural Society at 780-796-3598. |
Bruderheim Agricultural Society Campground
Open from spring thaw to freeze-up, Bruderheim's campground offers over 20 sites, both un-serviced and serviced (power and water). Sewer dump on site and optional fire pits. Rates: $23/day, $145/week, $550/month. Coming soon: horseshoe pits, BBQ pits, and playground! Contact Dan Gust for more information (780-903-1913).

Snowmobile Accessibility
Revv up for some winter fun - the Bruderheim surrounding area is a great place to hit the snow trails. The Town is very unique in that it actually permits snowmobiles on Town roads (as stated in our Land Use Bylaw) - as long as riders take the shortest route to their trail destination. Remember to always wear a helmet, and be courteous - ask for landowners' permission before riding on private property. For more information on accessibility, contact the Town Office at 780-796-3731.
