Thinking about starting a business? The Town of Bruderheim believes that opening your own business should be an exciting and worry-free endeavour. To achieve this, and to help ensure your sucess in our growing market, the department offers business support in a variety of ways. To start, we're here to answer all of your questions and assist you with the licensing and permitting process. Our office will work closely with you to provide information, service and support to achieve a perfect fit for you in our community.
Business licenses are required for most businesses, including home-based businesses, operating in the Town of Bruderheim. Some businesses, such as direct sales of Tupperware and Avon, do not require a business license. Before starting your company, you should contact the Development Liaison to see if you require a license. A development permit may also be required, depending on the type of business.
Application Process
A Business License application form can be picked up at the Town Office, located at 5017 Queen Street, during regular office hours (Monday to Friday 8am to noon, and 12:30pm to 4pm).
Once your application and fee has been submitted, the application will be reviewed by the Development Liaison. If the application meets the criteria of the Land Use Bylaw, a Business License will be issued and mailed to you. Processing takes 1-2 weeks for new licenses, and up to 1 week for renewals.
Fees
The fee for a business license is $25.00/ year. Licenses must be renewed each year.
