Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for heightened vigilance, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is closing the Bruderheim Elementary School Playground.

The Town of Bruderheim is also closing the public playgrounds in Sunset and Brookside subdivisions.

While we understand this will be disappointing news for families with young children, it’s not possible for the Division or the Town to monitor social gatherings or clean and sanitize outdoor equipment in such a way as to guarantee transmission of the virus can’t occur. For the safety of children, their families and the overall community, we must take this step to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Children can get active in any of our three playgrounds:

Half Moon Park

Located between the housing of 46th and 46 A Street and 54th and 55th Avenue in Brookside Park subdivision. Entrances are on 54th Avenue or on 46 A Street.

Sunset Park

Located on the southwest side of 51st Street.

Bruderheim School Playground

Located in the school yard just off of 48th Street or Highway 45.
