Tax Notices

Municipal property taxes are due June 30th, 2024

Combined assessment and tax notices were mailed to all property owners. If you did not receive your notice by May 31st, please contact the Town Office at 780-796-3731.

The 2024 assessments are based on a valuation date of July 1, 2023. If you feel your assessment is not accurate, please call the Town office at 780-796-3731 to speak to the assessor. The deadline to appeal your taxes is July 15, 2024.

All property owners are reminded that 2024 taxes are due June 30th, 2024, to effectively support the continued delivery of municipal programs and services.

A 9% penalty will be applied to unpaid tax amounts July 1st, 6% on August 1st, and 3% on September 1st. Filing an appeal does not excuse you from paying your taxes by the deadline.

To lighten the load you may be interested in tax installment payments - please visit the Tax Installment Payment Plan page.

Property owners in the Town of Bruderheim receive a property tax notice each year in May. The assessment indicates the owner's share of municipal taxes and the payment due date.

The value shown on your assessment notice is based on the estimated value of your property. Assessment (market value) of your home determines taxes payable, dependent on how your home compares to the 'average' home in Bruderheim. If your house value is higher than the average, you pay more tax. If the value is less than the average, you pay less tax. The 'comparison to average' calculation method ensures that taxes stay consistent and reasonable each year and maintains fairness among taxpayers!

If you have any questions about your tax notice, please call the Director of Corporate Services at 780-796-3731.
